Detroit Summer Outdoor Newborn Sessions

I adore the outdoors. I like to vacation is places that we can be outside exploring and enjoying nature. I like to find nice quite parks with lots of grass and bushes and flowers and enjoy the fresh air. I crave mossy locations (if anyone knows of amazing moss covered spots in Michigan, please let me know!)

This love of the outdoors is what drove me to photographing newborns outside. Other photographers often question why I do this - there are so many elements out of your control (and we love to control everything for newborn sessions) and outdoor lighting does present some challenges.

I have taken workshops with some of the best outdoor newborn photographers and I have spent years perfecting my outdoor newborn techniques. I have reliable ways to ensure the baby is warm, snugly and happy - in fact my outdoor newborn sessions are often quicker than indoor sessions. I have found perfect locations with the amazing light and I have locations that I love in different seasons.

I believe simplicity and nature are beautiful. I have spent years, striving to create a unique, timeless style for my outdoor newborn sessions. I honestly do not know of many other photographers in Detroit or even Michigan that capture newborns outside the way I do - I do look for them!
