Metro Detroit Maternity and Outdoor Newborn Session

It is so much fun to spend time with couples who are expecting a new baby! The air is literally filled with excitement, love and anticipation. Felicia and Garrett's session was done in late April in one of my favorite flower patches in Grosse Pointe. I waited until now to share the images because I wanted to share them with their outdoor newborn images!

For the maternity session, Felicia had the perfect baby bump showing and looked stunning in one of the dresses from my client closet. I often recommend that expectant moms be photographed between 32-36 weeks. Lucky for her it happened to be during Southeast Michigan's spring bloom. I love all the color in these photos.

Their beautiful baby girl was born a few weeks early and we did her outdoor newborn session on her due date, which I thought was pretty neat. The weather the day of her session was perfect and we returned to the same location. I had hoped to use a few spots from the maternity session for the newborn session however, now that the foliage was on the trees the light was not what I like to work with. But as always I had done my homework and visited a few days before the session and found new little patches with perfect, beautiful light.
