Metro Detroit Maternity Session

Maternity Sessions are always fun to photograph. There is always so much excitement, anticipation and love in preparing for a new baby to arrive and those feelings really come through in the final images.

When I first talked to this beautiful Grosse Pointe Woods mama to be about what she wanted - she said lots of flowers! I originally planned to do this session in a rose garden during its fall rebloom. But the heat and moisture from our crazy wet summer meant no real September bloom. So instead we headed to this lovely urban garden in Detroit.

I love this location for newborns and infant milestone session because there are so many beautiful nooks and crannies for them. Capturing a family is a little more difficult just because there is not a lot of unobstructed space that I usually look for. However, it was perfect for this session! And it allowed me to surround this expectant mom and her family with beautiful blooming flowers - it was just the look she envisioned when we first spoke about the session.
